Melissa Yew
Dental Hygienist & Dental Therapist (BHSc, Auckland)
Melissa is our lead Dental Hygienist.
Dental Hygienists are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the teeth and gums. Melissa’s role involves removing plaque and tartar from the teeth and cleaning under the gum line. Melissa can also advise on teeth whitening procedures, dietary advice, and even help you to quit smoking.
Melissa is a fun loving young lady with a passion for oral health. She is trained as both a Dental Hygienist and a Dental Therapist although Hygiene is her primary role at McIntosh Dental.
Melissa’s is a great communicator who can gently encourage her patients to improve their oral health. Your gums and jaw bone are the foundations that hold your teeth in place. As such Melissa has a vital role in ensuring that they are healthy, allowing you to keep your teeth for life.
Melissa gained her degree at the Auckland University of Technology in 2009. Melissa has been with McIntosh Dental Centre since 2010 and is quickly gaining a reputation as a gentle, friendly Hygienist who takes the time to listen to her patients.
