2019 has been full of challenges, opportunities and rewards – in short it’s been an incredibly busy time!
I have been very fortunate in being able to take opportunities to train and upskill both here in New Zealand and in Australia. These have proved to be invaluable in learning the latest advancements in Orthodontics and Dentistry and I’m excited to be able to offer them to our patients.
We have hosted four Parent Orthodontic Information nights throughout the year which have proved to be really popular – three out of the four evenings were booked out. They are always a great opportunity to share some information and answer questions, and I’m looking forward to presenting more throughout 2020.
The McIntosh Dental Orthodontic Scholarships were just as popular – if not more so – than they have been in previous years. As always, we received a huge number of entries and it was tough narrowing it down to our finalists and winners. Many of the entries talked about confidence and it was a fitting reminder of how the gift of a great smile can be completely life-changing. I’m grateful to be in a profession that affects people’s lives so positively.
We are looking forward to introducing an exciting new service next year: Dento-Facial Aesthetics in the form of Botox and Dermal fillers. This concept of Dento-Facial Aesthetics is about understanding that a smile is a ‘full face event’. The work we do inside the mouth has an effect on (and is affected by) what is happening with the rest of the face. Dr Gangadin and I will be offering facial injectable aesthetic treatments in our clinic at McIntosh Dental. The ultimate goal of facial injectable aesthetic treatment is for patients’ friends and families to notice how great they look without ever knowing exactly what is different or has been done. Contrary to popular belief, it is not about making someone look 20 years’ younger. Instead, it is about helping them to appear a fresher, more relaxed, healthier and revitalized version of themselves. Look out for more news on these exciting services in the New Year.
I’d like to say a genuine thank you to all of my patients and I hope you all get the chance to take a break and re-charge this summer. I look forward to seeing you again in 2020.
