Implant Crowns

If you are missing a tooth, not only can this look unsightly, but it can also cause bite, alignment and oral health issues in your mouth. Replacing a missing tooth is important for several reasons: it restores your smile, maintains your bite and alignment so that your speech and ability to eat isn’t affected, and helps to reduce your susceptibility to oral health problems. A missing tooth can also affect the shape of your mouth, as your remaining teeth begin to move to fill the gap which changes the natural arch and span of your mouth.

An implant crown is an excellent option for replacing a single missing tooth. The implant acts as the missing tooth’s root to fill the gap, and a crown, which is the visible part of the tooth, then gives a great aesthetic finish to restore your smile.

Because it is attached to an implant in the jaw, an implant crown is completely stable and solid. Unlike regular dental crowns, it does not have to rely on the support of neighbouring teeth. There does, however, need to be enough bone in the jaw for the implant.

Implant crowns function just like a natural tooth, and we match the colour to your other teeth perfectly. Crowns can be made of porcelain, ceramic, gold, or a combination of these materials.
