The McIntosh Dental Orthodontic Scholarships: Opening Soon!

Nominations for the McIntosh and Fraser Dental Group Orthodontic Scholarships open on 1st August 2020.

What Are The Orthodontic Scholarships?

Every year McIntosh and Fraser Dental award scholarships towards orthodontic treatment to be completed at McIntosh Dental or Fraser Dental. The prizes are awarded to deserving students attending years 7 – 13 at selected West Auckland and West Harbour primary, intermediate and secondary schools. Students may be nominated by friends, family, teachers, and members of the community. The winners are selected by our scholarship committee including Dr Alex McIntosh and Dr Milan Raniga.

The McIntosh And Fraser Dental Orthodontic Scholarships 2020

The McIntosh and Fraser Dental Orthodontic Scholarship programme for 2020 consists of two prizes of orthodontic treatment up to the value of $10,000.

How Does It Work?

During the nomination period we will be accepting applications for nominees. After applications close, the scholarship committee will select finalists to attend McIntosh Dental or Fraser Dental for a complimentary orthodontic consultation. Following this consultation, the committee will select the scholarship winners. The winners will each receive a prize of $10,000 towards orthodontic treatment at McIntosh Dental or Fraser Dental.

Who Are Nominations Open To?

Students in Years 7 to 13 who are currently enrolled at and attending one of the following schools:

Massey High School, Waitakere College, Liston College, St Dominic’s College, Henderson High School, ACG Sunderland, Rutherford College, Hobsonville Point Secondary, Henderson Intermediate, Rangeview Intermediate, Te Atatu Intermediate, Bruce McLaren Intermediate, Hobsonville Point Primary, Marina View School, West Harbour School, Hobsonville Primary School and Whenuapai School.

What Do We Look For In A Nominee?

We look for deserving students who would benefit greatly from orthodontic treatment. In particular, we look for achievers. To assist our committee’s decision, you can provide information on the nomination form about any of the following:

  • Achievement in the arts
  • Achievement in the sporting arena
  • Academic achievements
  • Cultural involvement
  • Community involvement

Ideally, the nominee will excel in at least one of these key areas.

How Do I Nominate Someone?

When nominations open on 1st August 2020, you can submit a nomination via our online form or by filling out a printed form and sending or dropping it in to us.

Who Can Nominate A Student?

Parents, guardians, whanau, teachers, other students and peers of the nominee are all welcome to submit nominations.

What Information Should Be Included In The Nomination?

Include everything! The more great stuff you can tell us about your nominee, the better their chances of being selected for the scholarship. Make sure you include anything you think is important for us to know about your nominee’s circumstances. Students that have been nominated by more than one person have a better chance of being selected, so spread the word and get nominating!
